Filmmaker Karina Friend Buck founded Genuine Buck Film in 1990 as a boutique production company specializing in high-quality "Making of" documentaries for the major film studios. Under the Genuine Buck banner, she has written, produced, directed and edited hundreds of behind-the-scenes documentaries, electronic press kits and cable specials. Her work is distinguished by its unusual depth, style and compelling story-telling.
Karina has been working in radio, television and film for over three decades, collecting a broad range of experience in both production and post. She was a pioneer of "Behind the Scenes" materials, editing many early film marketing featurettes including "Absence of Malice," and "The Breakfast Club." After a decade of staff jobs at KCET, Warner Bros. and Editel, she spent five seasons editing and associate producing a number of independent films and network dramas, including the music driven tv series, "Fame."
Today, Genuine Buck Film is recognized as one of Hollywood's premier providers of pre-release feature film programming and DVD bonus materials.
Karina is proud to be a new member of the board of The Live Arts Group, and has been an active mentor for the Fulfillment Fund since 2004.
